Izalia Spa Laser Hair Removal Terms & Conditions

Izalia team members are not authorized to engage in negotiations about the terms and conditions, and are instructed to direct all questions back to the statements on these forms. Please be sure you understand and agree to all of these terms before proceeding as an Izalia LHR client.

Cancellation policy:

Appointments missed for any reason, including insufficient preparation, late arrival, or cancelled within 24 hours prior to appointment time, will incur a $50.00 fee.  To be equitable to all, this is an inflexible policy and relates to the time of cancellation, never the reason.  Izalia employees are not required to remind clients about the policy when clients contact the spa to cancel. Invoices for cancellation fees are typically sent out the following Tuesday. All cancellation fees must be paid prior to services being rendered at Izalia, including complimentary treatments. Treatments are booked in time blocks varying from 10-60 minutes. Every appointment block allows time to discuss treatment progress with the laser tech, change clothes -if necessary- and receive a careful and effective treatment, as long as the appointment begins on time. All treatments are scheduled in back to back succession with appointments of other clients.

Parking:

There is ample street parking near Izalia, as well as pay lots north of the building (behind Jeni’s Ice Cream) or across the street. All parking is payable via credit cards or the ParkMobile app. The driveway is not available to Izalia clients, and must be kept available for building residents. Clients who park in the driveway will be asked to relocate their car prior to receiving treatment.

Timing:

  • Receiving treatments too soon after the prior treatment, or, if requested, prior to documenting clear evidence that evenly distributed new growth has occurred since the last treatment, voids the warranty, as treatments administered prior to new growth cannot destroy any hair follicles.
  • Receiving treatments too far after the previous treatment, when all of the new hairs that have returned in the area have had time to become long, or have been regularly shaven, voids the warranty, as treatments administered too long after the start of new growth will have missed the opportunity to reach the hair follicles that had been, but are no longer in the anagen stage of growth, which is the only circumstance under which hair follicles can be destroyed. Effective treatments must occur just after the beginning of each new growth cycle, which is verified by the presence of new, dark, evenly distributed hairs, just emerging from multiple pores in that treatment area.
  • For the series to be eligible for the FG warranty, correctly timed treatments must not be delayed for any reason including because of tanned skin, travel, moving out of the area, missed appointments, or personal schedule.
  • Regardless if they have been prepaid or not, treatments must occur within every 12 weeks to qualify as effective and qualify for the guarantee program, unless an exception and alternate length of growth cycle is documented by an Izalia Laser Technician. Such exceptions can only result from an in-person growth evaluation at Izalia Spa. Shaving within 4 weeks prior to the evaluation is prohibited. Shaving is evidenced by the absence of fine vellus hairs, which will otherwise be present at every treatment site within 6-8 weeks following the prior treatment. In cases where longer growth cycles are documented, a personalized maximum number of weeks between cycles will be established for compliance.
  • Clients are encouraged to consult with Izalia staff frequently about the status of their individual growth cycles and about how to determine if their treatment site is ready for treatment. Clients are encouraged to photo-journal the treatment areas for best comparative evaluation.
  • Clients seeking permission to pause treatments without voiding the warranty (due to medical conditions including pregnancy) must receive a written agreement from Izalia, and such agreements are not promised.
  • Missing treatments during each consecutive growth cycle, either by coming too early or too late, voids the warranty.

For a Laser Hair Removal (LHR) treatment series to be eligible to be warrantied, each treatment performed in the series must be a qualified treatment.

A Qualifying LHR Treatment is defined as one in which each treatment is administered in correct timing of every consecutive growth cycle, and clients have arrived for each of those treatments in total compliance with the “5 Golden Rules” as listed below.

Izalia Spa’s 5 Golden Rules of Laser Hair Removal:

Golden Rule 1. Clients must be definitively in the next consecutive “growth cycle” of dark hair growth, which has started sprouting following the honeymoon stage of the prior treatment in that area. Coming too soon, or too late will result in a forfeit of the warranty. For details, see Section above entitled “Timing” in Izalia’s Terms and Conditions.

Golden Rule 2. Clients must arrive to appointments having already thoroughly and completely shaven the treatment area, leaving zero dark hairs unshaven above the surface of the skin. A perfect shave is required for a treatment to qualify as “effective”.  Achieving a perfect shave can take more than 4 times longer than a quick shave, please plan accordingly. Clients are never permitted to shave at the spa.

Golden Rule 3. Clients must arrive to appointments without anything on the skin of the treatment area,  especially ANY type or amount of tan. Participating in the “Forever Guarantee Track” usually means agreeing to a lifestyle adjustment for a year or more, in order to do whatever is necessary to allow zero tan to occur on the treatment site during the treatment process. The warranty becomes voided when clients miss receiving treatments in consecutive growth cycles due to postponing treatment because of tanned skin. In addition to any type of tan, clients must arrive to appointments with zero makeup, topical numbing agents, lotions, deodorants, or sunscreen on the treatment area. Birdbathing in our powder or treatment room is prohibited.

Golden Rule 4. Do not be hot, be cool. Clients must arrive to appointments having abstained 12 hrs from exercise and all other temperature elevating activity. Please avoid walking to your appointment during the height of summer heat, or traveling to appointments at Izalia on heated seats in the winter.

Golden Rule 5. Do not pull any hair out of the skin in the treatment areas of the body. During the entire course of laser treatments at Izalia, clients must abstain from waxing, tweezing, threading, using creams like “Nair!”, and any other method known to remove hair from beneath the skin.

Clients not meeting the above requirements for effective, “Qualifying Treatments” when they arrive for appointments may be given two options:

  1. Pay a $50 cancellation fee and reschedule for date asap within the required 12 weeks. (This option might not be possible if the treatment area has become substantially tanned, or otherwise ineligible, in which case the second option might be a possible consideration)
  2. Elect to receive a Non-Qualifying Treatment, with the full acknowledgement that doing so voids the warranty and that treatments provided past the agreed number of warranty completion, will not be complimentary but will be sold at a 50% discount of the full price of the individual price of that area.

Laser Hair Removal, when administered in proper conditions, creates permanent results for dark hair. A lifetime of treatments should not be expected* and people should not expect to need more than 12 treatments.

*In rare cases, hormone fluctuation can generate new growth, particularly on the face.

White, blonde, and gray hairs will not respond to laser treatment and Izalia Laser Spa will make no attempt to kill them. Dark hair is required for laser treatment.

Complimentary Treatment Rules:

  • After completing the agreed requisite number of Qualifying Treatments, within 12 weeks, clients are required to come back to the spa for evaluation and verification that the series was successful.
  •  If dark hair persists, clients must continue in compliance with all golden rules and continue in treatment, free of charge, without interruption and within no longer than every 12 weeks (unless agreed in writing otherwise), until it is documented by an Izalia laser tech that all the dark hair in the area has been destroyed. Numerous complimentary evaluation appointments may be required. Shaving within 4 weeks prior to evaluation is prohibited and may nullify the warranty. Shaving is evidenced by the absence of fine, vellus hairs which are otherwise present.
  • If, after it is documented that all the dark hair has been destroyed, significant time passes and new dark hair begins to present in that treatment area, complimentary treatments may resume, with every above requirement continuing in effect.
  • Complimentary appointments will not be scheduled on Saturday unless openings become available that day or one day prior.

Complimentary treatments will only be performed as “effective treatments” and therefore only performed when all conditions for qualifying treatments are met. Clients arriving for a complimentary treatment in an unqualified condition will be refused and charged the cancellation fee.
